Co-production between Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo and Teatro Real in Madrid.

Luisa Fernanda is one of the greatest zarzuelas (Spanish comic operas) of all time.  This version counts on the participation of the National Symphony Orchestra and Colombia's Choir of the Opera under Musical Direction by Manuel Coves and Stage Direction by Emilio Sagi.

The piece features music by Federico Moreno Torroba and libretto by Federico Romero and Guillermo Fernández Sarachaga.  Luisa Fernanda is a lyric comedy in three acts, and is set in Madrid during the reign of Isabel II, before the revolution of 1968.

Its central character is Luisa Fernanda, a beautiful girl who lives in the main square of San Javier, and is in love with Javier – a military officer who increasingly visits her less often.

This co-production between Teatro Real from Madrid and Teatro Mayor Julio Mario Santo Domingo, features the participation of soloists Isabel Rey (Soprano), Elena de la Merced (Soprano), Antonio Gandia (Tenor) and Javier Franco (Baritone).
