Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra VI -Colombia

The Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra will aesthetically focus on the twentieth century.  This seeks to give the audience a comprehensive picture of the worldview brought along by the twentieth century, starting from the Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun– a work that opens the century.  From there onwards, Colombian composers who marked the century are linked alongside, not on a chronological basis, but by aesthetic trends.

Under the name Cuadros del Siglo XX (20th Century Scenes), from Debussy to Zumaqué, the Bogota Philharmonic Orchestra will dedicate its 2014 programming to great composers of the twentieth century.  Its programming includes different subchapters: 150 years of the birth of Richard Strauss, 140 years of Schoenberg's birth, Transfiguration Series (Schoenberg, Strauss, Scriabin), Great Colombian Soloists, and Great Colombian Composers.
