With a history of over 30 years, the Orange Hill, Mento and Calypso Music Group is the longest standing group of San Andres. It performs music from the Archipelago, Providencia and Santa Catalina, and it takes its name from the Loma Orange Hill area, home to its members.
The group's musicians, who are members since its inception, are fishermen and farmers who see music as their only chance to see the world and let the world know their culture.
Orange Hill is comprised of parents, children and grandchildren of a dynasty of musicians and songwriters, and have delighted the people on the island for over 60 years. In addition to being authors and performers, they are also educators in order to give continuity to this legacy. This is a circulation project with Idartes.
