Headquartered in Seoul, Korea, the company features dancers from different countries in Asia, Europe and America. The Universal Ballet of Korea combines the grace and harmony of Asian culture with the strength and beauty of Western classical ballet. Works by different choreographers like Youngsoon Hue and Ji?í Kylián will be performed.
Created in 1984, the company has gained fame and recognition worldwide. Currently, Julia Moon (CEO) and Brian Yoo (Art Director) are at the head of the ballet.
The ballet owes its progress to a group of people who have made great academic contribution, including four American directors: Adrienne Dellas, Daniel Levins, Roy Tobias and Bruce Steival. It also inherited much of the rich ballet tradition in St. Petersburg, thanks to contribution by Oleg Vinogradov, former Artistic Director of the Kirov Ballet. Vinogradov is currently Artistic Director Emeritus of the company.
