Based in France, this group consists of Tania Castro Arias (flute), Cesar Castro Arias (violin and viola) and Stephanie Mulot (piano). They will perform the concert “Tour through South American Music”, including works by composers such as Antonio Maria Valencia, Heitor Villa- Lobos, Ernesto Nazareth, Astor Piazzolla and Mario Gareña, among others.
The program is divided in two parts: Cultured South American Music inspired on Popular Music, and Traditional South American Music. For both parts of the program, the Emerald Trio selected Colombian, Venezuelan, Argentinean and Brazilian music.
Trio members
Tania and Cesar are two siblings from Ibagué city, who began their musical training in the Spanish-American oral musical tradition. They began studying classical/concert music at the Conservatory of Tolima and the National University of Colombia in Bogota, and then continued their studies in France.
The trio is completed by Stephanie Mulot, French pianist educated within the European scholarly tradition, who, from a young age, felt attracted to the creation and performance spaces offered by oral tradition music.
