For over ten years, Lucía Pulido made part of the duo Ivan and Lucia along with singer/songwriter Ivan Benavides, with whom she recorded three albums. Now she has a sophisticated and experimental proposal focused on traditional Colombian music and jazz, accompanied by Japanese bassist Stomu Takeishi.
Lucía has been invited to sing and record with great electronic and experimental jazz musicians such as Ed Simon, Dave Binney, Erik Friedlander, Christian Fennesz, and Burkhard Stangl in Vienna.
She received a scholarship for resident artists at the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council Foundation LMCC. After her arrival in New York in 1994, she has focused on an experimental approach on traditional Colombian rhythms. In 1995 she recorded Lucía, her first solo CD, which was recorded by the Colombian company Sonolux, and distributed throughout the U.S. by Sony in 2000.
