Fires – Cooproducción Iberoamérica

Based on Wajdi Mouawad's text and directed by Miguel Angel Rivera, Incendios (Fires) is a poetic work bathed in the pain and tenderness of a woman- victim of confused men blinded by power.  It is a story in which fate plays its cards in the style of the Greek tragedies, where at the end, fatalism leaves some hope.

After years of being steeped in the deepest silence, Nawal Marwan- an immigrant mother, dies.  Notary  Hermile Lebel, man of her trust, delivers the twins Julia and Simon, sons of Nawal, two sealed envelopes: one addressed to a father they thought was dead, and another to a brother whose existence they ignored.

The twins begin a journey that leads them to a distant country immersed in violence, where they must find their father and brother to rebuild their home.  On this quest, they will meet the atrocities of war, but also the value of love and friendship, and finally, the tragedy of their own birth.

The play counts with participation of María León Arias, Natalia Bedoya, Andrés Sandoval, Quique Mendoza, Cristina Marchán, Sebastián Ospina, Marco A. López, Juan Esteban Quintero, and Laura Londoño.
